David Hoey: “We are looking forward to the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Competition”

WorldSkills International CEO David Hoey shared his impressions of 7th National “Young Professionals” Competition (WorldSkills Russia), as well as of the new Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre.

“Kazan Expo is a very important venue for us, and it proved more than capable of hosting a large event, such as the National “Young Professionals” Competition. We hope to host more WorldSkills Competitions there in the future.” said David Hoey.

According to Mr Hoey, both national and international competitions attract professionals from all over the world: “They share their experience, knowledge and skills. Motivating each team not only to compete well, but to continue learning.”

“We are delighted with the city and how the competition turned out. We are looking forward to return in August for the main competition of the year.” He added.

The 7th National Competition “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) took place on 20-24 May in Kazan. This is the biggest skills competition, made up of vocational college (aged 16-22), and secondary school students (aged 14-16). These educational institutions guide students towards their chosen career path, implementing the best international practices in the Russian education system.

About WorldSkills Kazan 2019

The 45th WorldSkills Competition – the main international event in Russia this year – will take place in Kazan on 22-27 August 2019.

Kazan was voted to host the Competition in 2015. The WorldSkills Russia movement includes all 85 regions of Russia and is one of the leading employee training projects.
