MAJORITY OF INDIA’S YOUNG WORKFORCE ARE UNEMPLOYABLE

Did you know that 65-75% of young people entering the Indian workforce are unemployable? CEO of Safeducate, Divya Jain, believes that the solution is to start career counselling from a very young age, as this helps students understand and identify what skills they need to develop.

EMPLOYERS DON’T VALUE MBAs

According to India Skills Report 2019, only 45.6% of India’s graduates are employable. Engineers are the most employable, and MBA courses are no longer attractive to employers. Yet, since 2018, there has been a 15% increase in hiring.

LACKING SKILLED WORKERS

Did you know that the proportion of formally skilled workers in India is only at 4.69%? This is compared to:

  • 24% in China,
  • 52% in USA,
  • 68% in UK,
  • 75% in Germany,
  • 80% in Japan,
  • and 96% South Korea.
