Nassim Taleb announced as keynote speaker at the WorldSkills Conference 2019

The best-selling author on the nature of complexity, randomness, and a world where rare events dominate the landscape, Nassim Taleb, has been announced as the keynote speaker at the WorldSkills Conference in Kazan in August this year. 

 

Best-known for his book The Black Swan, Mr Taleb’s keynote speech titled Risk-engineering as the new norm – for this and the next generationwill advise young minds on how to navigate through this era of uncertainty, where fast-paced technological advancements and ongoing societal transformations is already forcing people to adopt life-long learning. 

 

The WorldSkills Conference will take place alongside the WorldSkills International Competition at the new KazanExpo from the 23rd to the 24th August. 1,400 young people from all over the world will compete to be world champions in 56 different skills. The Conference will discuss pressing skills gap questions including: how can we train an agile generation of skilled young people for the future? How will they stay relevant in the face of the economic, social and technological transformation?
